Who is involved in CAARF operations?

There is a panel that consists of one representative from each organization:

Which cities or counties are eligible for individuals to submit tips and receive reward funds from the CAARF?

The CAARF panel considers all AAPI hate crimes that happen in the Bay Area.

How do I submit a tip?

Please submit tips to your local law enforcement agency. We want to utilize existing law enforcement and ensure the tipster’s confidentiality and safety. CAARF collaborates with Bay Area law enforcement agencies to collect, process and reward tips.

How are rewards issued?

CAARF works with law enforcement agencies to determine which cases are selected and the reward amount for eligible or qualifying tips. The panel makes the ultimate decision on whether to issue a reward announcement. The panel makes the ultimate decision on how to proceed and issue funds for each case.

Can individuals collect fund rewards anonymously?

YES. The CAARF and leading law enforcement officials on the case will determine how to confidentially issue funds to the individual who has provided an approved tip.

How can I help?

  • You can make a donation to CAARF here.

  • Search for opportunities to volunteer in your local community, such as chaperoning or walking with the elderly

  • Learn ways to de-escalate conflicts as a bystander witnessing racism/xenophobia

  • Shop and support businesses in your local Chinatown neighborhood

There are numerous other things we can do to fight against anti-Asian hate crimes but continuing the conversation, raising awareness and getting others to think about the spike in hate crimes can change how the AAPI community is perceived and stop discrimination. The AAPI community is not alone and we will fight to create change together.
